JUNE 29, 2021
6/29/21. It has been 6 months today since the passing of Capt Chris Hueth, my husband of 32 years, best friend, business partner and love of my life. He had such a positive impact on so many people, and a true legend in the fishing industry. I want to reach out and thank the many people who have stepped up and helped me get here today. Chris and his crew have created a unique environment on the Big Mohawk, and it warms my heart to see his legacy live on! I was down at the Mohawk early this morning and it was wonderful to see so many of our “regulars” along with some new faces that have become a part of “ the Mohawk family” I could not have gotten here today without the help and true friendship of my brother in law, Greg Hueth! Chris would be so proud of all of the help and guidance you have given me! Our Captains and Crew have stepped up to the plate and are continue the legacy that Chris had created! Thank you to our Captains, Greg, Nick, Richie, and Mike. Our crew, Payton, Ronnie, Dustin, Jack, Mike and Andrew!!! It is a pleasure to work with all of you. You are second to none! Thank you everyone for sticking with us and your continued support! We made it through the winter months of Blackfish season this year. Sea Bass season was phenomenal, and have kicked off Fluke season with an excellent start! We will continue full speed ahead and look forward to seeing you all this summer! Enjoy your day and “catch em up” ~Kathy Hueth
Thank you for all of your love and support!

WELCOME CAPTAIN MATTY SOSNOWSKI
We are so excited to welcome Capt Matthew Sosnowski to the Mohawk family! Captain Matty is a born and raised local who’s love of fishing sparked as a toddler fishing with his father on the Old Ideal in Point Pleasant.
*For 25 years he has been working on the Norma K 111, also in Point Pleasant Beach. He started out as a deckhand in 1996 until he went to Sea School in Virginia, where he earned his Captains License back in 2002.
* Capt. Matty has a true passion for fishing and truly cares about putting his customers on a great catch.
*We are excited for Matty to bring his knowledge of fishing and all of his experience to the Big Mohawk. He specializes in Black Sea Bass, Fluke, Stripers, Bluefish, Ling and Cod, but if you ask any of his friends they will say that his true passion is Blackfish! He is not only phenomenal at it, but an excellent teacher with many tips and tricks and is more than happy to help you land your own.
*Matty is very excited to be embarking on this new chapter in his career. Chris was one of Matt’s most beloved friends, and he knows that he will make Chris proud up in that wheelhouse. We hope that next time you are aboard the Mohawk, say hello and introduce yourself to Cap. Matty!

The wind made for some tough catching conditions today. It was a very fast drift in the morning, but got a little better in the afternoon and we caught a few nice fish. Still not very good, but the fish are there if the conditions shape up. The next couple days look good so come on down and catch them up! Ww will be headed out tomorrow at 6am, open boat, first come, first serve and we will limit the number of passengers on board. See you in the morning
Today was the last day of the season and it was a challenge. The wind blew 25 in the morning and backed off a little later in the day. We were able to put a decent catch together, but it was tough. Good short life at times and we managed about 40 keepers. Does not sound like much, but for today it was a pretty good and it was because our customers could catch them. Great job guys and girls!!!!
Going into dry dock tomorrow for the week so please look for updates for next week.
Thanks again for everyone who supported the Big Mohawk 2021 fluke season. Looking forward to Sea Bass, Stripers and Blackfish in the coming months. So stay tuned and come down and “catch em up”
